How this class works
Syllabus & Policies
Both courses ask the same thing of you: read carefully, write with a purpose, and revise honestly. English III centers American voices and the arguments they make about who this country is for. AP Lang trains you to analyze and construct arguments at the college level, culminating in the May exam.

Policies
Late work
Accepted up to five school days late for 80% credit. Talk to me before the due date and we will usually work something out.
Revision
Any essay may be revised once within two weeks of being returned. The revised grade replaces the original — no averaging.
AI and academic honesty
Use AI to quiz yourself or unpack a hard passage. Submitting AI-generated prose as your own writing is plagiarism and is handled under school policy.
Absences
Check the calendar page first, then see me. You have the number of days you were absent to make up the work.
What to bring
- Composition notebook (kept for the whole year)
- Blue or black pens and a highlighter
- Sticky notes for annotation
- A folder or binder section for returned essays
